What is brand and model of the welder you are using? Can you recommend it? I use a R-Tech TIG Welder AC/DC 160 Amp its a good machine and does all I ask of it. I choose it only because it was the welder i used at the collage that I did evening classes at when I learned how to TIG weld after many years of MIG welding I thought it was time I raised my game especially with the price of good TIG sets becoming more reasonably priced Here is a link to the Spec (Its not meant to be an advert) www.r-techwelding.co.uk/tig-welder-240v-ac-dc-160amp/

Setting up the front suspension today! Getting it all squared up and pointing the right way, Its all done with spirit level and straight edges! I owe my suspension Knowledge to the late Allan Staniforth a legend in Hillclimbing and suspension writer showed me how to set up a car in his garage in Patley bridge when I was racing a single seater, he gave me a fantastic insight in to the black art of suspension set up and his old school approach and methodology is as relevant to days as its ever been.

Really clean looking build. Looks like you know what you are doing with the alinement stuff.
Yours is the first fiberglass work that I have seen posted here that encourages me to try it. Was going to use Aluminium to enclose my engine .
May go grp for greater shape flexibility and just to try something different.

Its not hard, and the satisfaction of braking away from flat sided fabrications and panels is fantastic you relay do start to think you can build any thing! Its just a step by step process, using hand tools (No capital outlay like setting yourself up welding) have a go with a little table top project like a power bulge or similar I am sure if you look on the net there will be a fibreglass supplier that will sell 5lt tin of resin and a few metres of 450g CSM matt and away you go A good book I used to get started was " The Glassfibre Handbook by R H Warring" but there are lots of good books out there, even the fibreglass shops tend to sell them these Days If you get stuck just ask and I will help you out if i can.

Beautiful job! Two Atta boy's on this one. Are you planning on making kits for these? Are they going to be street legal?
At first it was ho hum. Then as it was coming together I really started to like it a lot. If you do make kits will the tubing be mandrel bent? There are a few of us on here that are certifiable maniacs where every detail counts.
Great job!!

Looks very good and ready for action. Can we see the instrument panel? As edvb says, lot of nice details. And done pretty quick too.

2rike Beautiful job! Great job!! Edward Thank you for the kind comments edvb,I must admit I enjoy the detail of a well thought out well executed plan. After the testing session at the track and when the 2rike is all set up for the road then the next objective is to get it through our MSVA ministry of transport test to get it approved to use on the UK roads. Then I would like to have some fun in it! and do a few speed hillclimbs and sprints to prove its motorsport credentials and further develop it. The concept at the beginning was to make the 2rike accept any bike just using an adaptor kit in the back so if you like Honda,Suzuki,or BMW bikes you just take the forks out and bolt it in the back. So it will all be down to feed back to see if people would like a 2rike of their own? I have used motor sport specification (roll cage material) cold draw seamless tube on the 2rike prototype its very strong and only weighs around 50Kgs , If I can get enough interest in the 2rike as a kit then I should be able to get the economy of scale to make it viable to have the frames cnc mandrel formed and laser cut to produce it at a reasonable cost! I have got some ideas batting about in my head about a Windscreen option and a shell type hard top with gull wing doors!to make it more usable in inclement weather but that's all in the future. 2rike

Looks very good and ready for action. Can we see the instrument panel? As edvb says, lot of nice details. And done pretty quick too. I have kept it simple and just used the Bike instrumentation and switch gear, the idea is you cut the wiring harness of the bike where the handlbars were and just extend the wires to the new location of the dash The only added wiring is for a mandatory hazard warning light switch. Don't worry about the two screws holding the steering wheel to the quick releases steering wheel boss, that's on my "to do" list before I head for the track! If there are any other areas that you would like to see triplethreat just ask and I will try and sort it 2rike

Looks real nice! Simplifying and making things work in a clean design is the hardest part to achieve. You did a great job.

I had a great day out with the 2rike at blyton on Friday. It was a double test for me because i have never driven a reverse trike before so testing a new trike on a cold day on a track i have never been to before is a daunting task! I need not have worried from the first corner on the sighting lap it felt great.it turns in really well with a light feel to the steering wheel and you can feel the grip on the front wheels and then its just a case feed the power in! you feel as though you are sat under the centre line of the wheels and that gives you confidence to push on to be honest you forget that you are missing a wheel at the back. Brakes: worked well but I was surprised at how much down shifting in to the corners would slow the 2rike so not needing loads of really heavy braking any way. So at this point bike brakes are more than up to the job for road use! Cooling:That worked a treat the underfloor air scoop was cooling the engine even though it was only a quarter open so plenty of scope there for hot days and further development Down Side: Couldn't see the gear number indicator, it just wasn't bright enough ( I will just Buy a new one) The Clutch started to slip, I bought the bike two years ago and never rode it so it was always an unknown quantity I had only changed the oil and filter before todays outing so that's no big deal, i have raced this type of engine in a single seat hillclimb car so I Know that will be up to the job Conclusion: This is going to be great fun on the road and I think it has some potential on the track or for hillclimbing and sprinting watch this space! I will be putting a video on my 2rike Facebook page shortly Link to some Photos of the day www.flickr.com/photos/frankhall/albums/72157663762670034

Here is a link to some gopro video I did at Blyton last Friday on the first drive out of the 2rike. It looks really slow, but if you fast forward it to the 7.5 minute mark you can see me spin off!! its the only bit of action apart from every man and his dog passing me! A good day out, First time I have driven a reverse trike! Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=f13qU98SMlo

This weeks mission was to fit this sump baffle in the R1 2rike as a precaution to stop oil starvation on hard cornering, This picture is looking up from the ground with the sump pan removed. I have also fitted new clutch friction plates with a Barnet Pressure plate. for good measure! What a job re-fitting the clutch cover plate is trying to locate the centre pin drive on its little rack and end up with the cable lever in the right place when the clutch cover is tightened home! If you have done this job on the R1 you will know what I mean.

Well it was a 5.30am. Start to get to Beverley for 8.00 MSVA test slot I was very nervous to say the least , but 2 hours later I was relieved to come out with a pass certificate. I can apply for the V5 log book now , just a few weeks off the road now!
