I'm having an issue with hooking up my signal lights. I'm using an 85 GL1200 Goldwing as my donor bike. I have hooked up the front signal lights (two wire instead of three) and a VW signal switch. All the wires are in place except that front signal lights do not have the running bulb so the orange/white and blue/white are not hooked up. The hazard lights work but the left/right signals do not. Does anyone here have experience with the GL1200 wiring? I have an online manual I downloaded and the diagram shows the grey wire being the power to the switch but the switch conduit diagram shows the green (ground). I should only need to hook up the orange, blue and grey to the switch. I took apart the switch and checked the continuity and the gray connects with the orange or blue depending on the left or right switch is activated. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I figured out the problem. I had a downloaded manual but I was looking at the correct schematic but not the correct switch position diagram. The correct diagram was illegible so I was having a hard time making out the colors. In my haste to dismantle the switch I failed to notice additional connections and I should have done my continuity checks before I dismantled it as well. Lesson learned.
