Hiya, not posted for nearly three years but I am now in a position to get on with things. I note the moderators have asked folk not to post endless pictures of their builds. I've got a FB page with all of the trials and tribulations of the build www.facebook.com/grumpygarage/?ref=bookmarks so will probably only post pictures here of the bigger steps in the build and keep the boring bits to myself. I'm sure we all have boring phases to a build and we all know how to cut and weld things. I'm no engineer but working from a modified Tri-Pod plan from Australia , I've had to modify them to suit the Locost wishbones and uprights I'm going to be using. I'm guessing they are slightly longer than those that Tri-Pod use and had I used the mounting point dimensions on the original plans it'd be nearly 1600 mm wide to the wheel rim edge and i'm aiming for 1400 mm max. like i said earlier, I'm just an enthusiastic amatuer and no engineer so any advice is always welcome. I hope some of you find the build interesting, I'm hoping for exciting come the end result.

Gaz, They haven't asked us not to post pictures, they have asked us to not upload them directly to the forum board, I have tons of pictures in my build, but they are uploaded to imgur.com and then just linked like below so what you see is this website just showing what is stored somewhere else. At least that is my understanding since I have hundreds of pictures on here and it has never come up before now. [img*] i.imgur.com/Z3Vko0X.jpg[/img*] (minus the asterisks) Welcome aboard Andrew

Thanks Andrew, I'll have to figure out where to store them then unless FB links are ok.
Cheers for the help .

Got the lower front wishbones fitted and all welded up. My daughters airsoft team mates have jumped in to help as my fibromyalgia is stopping me doing some of the work myself. pictures on my build page on FB here www.facebook.com/grumpygarage/

Most of the front chassis is now welded up, I have some parts to order so we can get it on it's wheels as a rolling chassis. More pictures here. www.facebook.com/grumpygarage/Good progress this evening.

Looks good so far. It is good to have friends to help when you need. Do what you can when you can.
Dealing with Fibromyalgia is all in your head. I have had Fibromyalgia going on 50 years but we did not know what was causing my pain. Making people understand that there is no real pain and its just the nerve center nociceptors misfiring that make it hard to do anything is my hardest problem. I get "Your leg's not broken, get back to work" or "Just MAN up" or "You're just lazy". I have done a 20 year career in the US ARMY and THEN 19 years as a Telephone Repair tech while suffering with this. I had to work while in MAJOR pain most of my life. So yes, I did "MAN up" and at 60+ years old I am tired of working thru pain. And then there's the DRUGS.......

I do what i can on the good days and plan whats next to do on the bad days. I'm hoping to get the seat unit in by the end of the week so i can start to work out all the distances to the dash hoop, the pedals and steering wheel. The fibro is easier to deal with when i have things to occupy my mind so at the moment i feel like i'm on top. Hopefully the recent medication change will help .

I've had a few minor setbacks since I last posted. Trip to South Africa to bury my mum, various trips to hospital for biopsy's etc but i'm back at it as hard as I can manage. Progress and pictures on my build page on FB if anyone wants a peek. www.facebook.com/grumpygarage/
