That's interesting that one of your designs uses the running gear from the Honda CX series motorcycle. My JZR use the Honda CX650 as a donor cycle.

I have not even started reading most of the RCW's. One of these days I will call a family friend that is a WSP trooper and ask questions. RCW= Regulatory Code Washington State WSP = Washington State Patrol, the TOP COP's of the state. Don't call them cop or officer, they are Troopers.

. . . The challenge with many of my designs is threading my way through the WA RCWs and WACs - if anybody has experience with that, I'd like to hear from you. . . . RCW= Regulatory Code Washington State . . . . RCW = Revised Code of Washington (laws passed by legislature and signed by Governor) WAC = Washington Administrative Code (lower level specifics written by a department such as Department of Licensing) WA = Washington (state) in the USA, or Western Australia (federated state) in Australia

I have not started the build of my trike yet so I do not have many answers. But the couple I do know are:
1. If it has three wheels or LESS its a Motorcycle. (With a "Towpack or Liberty trike kit they add outrigger wheels and are considered as a car for HOV lane rulings. I am not sure if you could claim that its now a car and not need a motorcycle endorsement.)
2. If you sit on it like a motorcycle seat and it has handle bars you must have both a motorcycle endorsement and a trike endorsement. But if it has a chair type seat and is partially enclosed you may only need a Car/truck license without a motorcycle endorsement. I was told it must be totally enclosed to not wear a helmet.
I could be wrong. But as you go forward, please keep us informed on what you find.
