Hey, it's great to be part of this forum. We are working on a 2-seat, hybrid rear-drive commuter. 100 mile range on electric-only, LOTS of power, full roll cage with crumple zones, easy ingress/egress. 5-speed or automatic transmission out of a Mazda Miata. Removeable bikini top (Similar to a Jeep Wrangler). All-electric heat and A/C, fully digitally-driven (analog-style) gauges, shift up/down indicators driven by performance switch (Range/Performance). I've been working on the system designs since I left Arcimoto in '09, and now we are cutting steel for the chassis. The first bodies will be built out of fiberglass, but ultimately will be made of TPO (the same material they use for ATV bodies). The ultimate goal is to offer a "kit" vehicle that can be assembled in less than 2 weeks in your garage, with no welding, cutting, grinding, modifications or hidden costs involved. As a previous owner of several kit cars, the idea is to offer something that can actually be built instead of gathering dust...
