I gotta say, it is similar to my design, so I will elaborate some. The front axle is very familiar! It is a great piece for a M/C powered trike, but perhaps a bit heavy. You can't beat the fit though. Did you mention the size engine you are using? A Honda yes but how big?
Mine has a forward engine, a Yamaha Virago 920cc. I tie the forward engine together with the rear end by a light strong tube with a U-joint at either end, and a small tight little bearing roughly midway, to keep it from vibrating too much and self-destroying. The engine is mounted off-center to the left of centerline, so it takes care of the driver on the right. When I get a passenger, check back and see how it works then.
I like the V-twin because of its lowish speed/high torque. I am adding a small ratio of increased speed at the engine end by adding a chain drive. It just happens that I like a small chain link because it allows me to put the engine/drive shaft where I like to have them. There are some unknown (to me) disadvantages to a chain, but I like the added convenience.
It is a two-seater, side-by-side, so I can take my companion along for a ride. Eventually it will have swinging doors, a main windshield, and roll-up windows. These I got from an old pick-up, that had a pair that I could make fit.
So the difference between my car and yours is mainly that I shortened it by putting the engine up front, and gas tank. There is a little footroom allowed by the fact that the engine is on the passenger side. One day I will show pics of the machine as it sits.
I hope my comparison helped you; I wish you lots of luck, cause I think you got the right combination.
