just like to say that I have been interested in reverse trikes for years, started my project and have received bugger all feedback, this has got to be the most unfriendly or insular forum that I have ever been on!

There are not a lot of current members on here so you will find that some posts go for weeks with no answer. This is one of the slowest forums I have been on. But if you are not in a hurry, you will get an answer. We have a well diverse group of members on here and most of us know a lot about all things related to building a bike/trike. On that note, welcome.

Yeah, don't go all p i a w on us Mick. There is only a half dozen guys who make regular contributions here. Not a lot of traffic.
Need a comment? Why did you go with such a primitive front end?

I read your posts last night but was too busy to sit down and reply. It is too hard to post a lengthy response on my Android phone. There are a lot of people that join the forum and post a bunch of pipe dreams, pictures or a couple of parts, then never return or follow up. I follow members who have pictures of actual progress and ignore the rest. Just the way it is. I thought about a solid front axle, I have one on my Hot Rod. They aren't very compliant. I was afraid instead of the suspension flexing going over bumps, I felt the body would just roll. Solid axles tend to transfer more flex to the rest of the car and with only one wheel in the back, there is nothing to resist sway. Plus they are heavy and not very adjustable. No camber, anti dive or castor (depending how you install it.)

I would just say, why the reply now? I am a keen enthusiast and would reply quickly which I am used to from my Ducati and Triumph forums. Thanks for liking my hat, it is a insulated lunch box and the shot was taken by my daughter. Primitive front end is the look that I want and it is not as primitive as it first looks, almost like a De deon but on the front and that works very well on a caterham. Transverse leaf spring, ok at the moment it is off a VW pick up truck but on the look out for a composite spring, like used in the newest corvettes.

The front end is a little heavy as the steering rack is mounted on the axle but no bump steer, Castor angle is going to be set at around 5 degrees and there will be a little adjustability on the top ball joint for camber, unlike the traditional hot rod front end, the leaf spring will not be used for lateral location, also on a hotrod with a leaf spring attached to the chassis via one point in the middle, this creates roll not when attached at 2 points.
