I have been working on my design of a Magilla’s Roadster R/T. Let me know what you think and ideas.

Need to run some tubes diagonally for torsional and north/ south bending resistant or it will have a poor strength to weight ratio. Planning a stressed panel skin perhaps? Have a look at the Captain's frame. It is diagonalled to death.

Thanks for the info; this is my first time designing a Reverse trike. I can use all the help I can get. I have build conventional VW trikes before Rear and Mid engine trikes but nothing like this, so again thanks for the info. Magilla

Good call on making it a 2 seater. Twice the fun.

Most defiantly two seats are the way to go. It nice to share the fun times with someone. I have to decide, do I like the Roadster or go with my son idler who likes the cool look of what I call B-Rex for big boys. Listed below.

The overhead tubes offers a structural advantage that allows door cut outs to be lower and still retain stiffness. Rollover protection to boot. Is That a T-rex frame we are looking at?
A single seat offers advantages in performance and ease of build, with less weight and frontal area. Also, if you frequently drive a side by side solo, handling will suffer when turning right, due to a e/w load imbalance that's much more critical than it would be in a heavier 4 wheeled vehicle. Great for tuning left though.
Of course all that goes out the window if its important to you to be able to share the ride with others. Neither configuration is right or wrong, its just whichever suits us.

It’s going to be a two place. I used the concept of the T-Rex frame but I made it longer, wider and taller. I am 6’7” 280lb so I and my son need something bigger and roomier. I am also looking to use a 1.8 motor and 6 speed trans from a front wheel drive VW. (yes I like VW’s) I am not sure how that is going to work but they did use it on the VW concept Reveres Trike so I am looking for info on that, but not too much is listed on the net. I will build it out of PVC pipe first as this is my first and the cost of PVC pipe is a lot cheaper then metal tube if I have change things.
