Sorry for the long time I had no updates. I'm still working on the Kolibri. Here is a try to build a plug from foam with using the hood from the EV. Needs three weeks work. Too much work and to much money, (because I have to use a special resin and glas to get the car street legal. So I decided to use alu - sheet. First step with carton and then with metall- alu. After the first steps I made a stainlesssteel dashbord. Ralf

Because I made no fibreclass I made fenders from alu. Here the parts. Here the making. Made some brackets what was easy because there where two threaded holes I can use at the drum brakes. And mounted.

This is my last update. Lets go to the back of the car. Wanted to try to make the edget design from the front. First step once again carton and then building a frame. The hole in that alu-sheet is for the tank. It's not easy to make pics of the car in my shop because of the space but I would like to show you what the complete car looks like in the moment. That's what happend the last month's. Thank you for watching and your coments. Ralf from Germany

Okay I think I got it here I show you the complete front end. Made the rear fender from alu as the front. Use the original harness of the Honda and the EV to get all the elektrik things and got KOSO instruments. After I made all this stuff I roll it out to the sun and made some pics. At this point the car was still spotwelded so I made the frame naked and a friend of mine did a good weld-job. After the hole frame is welded I am going to put all things together. Wheels and brakes are coloured. Decided that the colour of the car will be blue. Because painting is expensive I use foil blue coloured. So now at the moment I'm at the final assembly. Hope to be ready at the end of January to get it to the German TÜV (to get it streetlegal) Thanks for watching. Wish you all merry chrismas and a happy new year. Greetings from Germany Ralf

Okay I thought here was a question from triplethreat how it goes? Did you delete it? Maybe I am to late to answer, sorry. I am still trying to get the car streetlegal. There are some little things like, headlights not in the right position, or the chassis number must be at the right side of the car, some sharp corners must be reworked, all these things are not so bad. The real problem is that some rules have changed during the building process. So I must have a FEA calculation for the chassis. I'm working on it. Next issue is the drivability over 70 km/h . Because the car is so light ( only 60kg at one of the frontwheel) I must change the suspension geometry. When I started I looked about suspensions from normal cars and didn`t really thougt about the real weight I would have at the front. So caster, king pin angle must be changed to get more reset force. I'm working on it. I changed caster from 6° to 12° an the king pin angel from 10° to 16°. No pics at the moment . Ha ha I'm working on it. Think I will have the next testdrive the next weekend and it will work better. Hopefully. Fingers crossing ? Thanks for asking Triple Greetings Ralf

Thanks for update Ralf. Thought you might have your own reasons for not answering, so I withdrew the post. Sorry about that, sometimes my patience is not the best.

Yes, Yes, Yes After 4 years, 7 month I got my German plate. It was ready to drive at April 2014 and now after 2 years off trying to get a stress analysis it is street legal by the help off the German TÜV and a University who calculate the frame and suspension. First legal Drive. Thank you for watching and help, discussions and helpful suggestions. Ralf the Kolibri

Greetings Ralf
How much did the Kolibri wind up weighing? How is the gas mileage? Are you driving it a lot?

Hello Liteway,
just tried to find out what you mean with: wind up weighing. But did not get an anwser. If you mean just the weigt it is 210Kg or 462 lbs.
The gas Mileage is something about 80 -100 mpg. 6 Gear and 50 km/h or 31 mls.
The last question is a real problem i thing I made 300km on it last year. But spring and summer will come and I hope to be able to drive it much more.
Thanks for your greetings.
