Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Mike, and I am from middle Tennessee. I work at an open wheel chassis manufacturer. Open Wheel dirt cars like Sprints and Midgets. I have been working in the race car industry since 92. I myself have built a few Mini Choppers, Quarter Midgets, and Go Karts. But now I want to built an RT. I have been collecting info and drawing up CAD drawings but have yet to start. Hope to soon!

Welcome!
I will be eagerly awaiting news on your project. I'm no expert on building these but do like them and hope to build one in the future. Any project that is posted will ad to the base of knowledge for others to learn from and you sound like a guy that has some good ideas on building.

Hi, my name is Wayne and I am from Oregon. I have built a RT just rough wanted to see if it would work. Now I would like to build the real deal. I used a link pin vw front end as i had never built anything like this before. On my next go at it I want to use control arms with coil over type set up. I have been looking around on line and I am amazed at what this type of suspension set up goes for. Have any ideas on what and where I should be looking? I would be looking for the whole front set up spindles hubs rotors arms the works. Welcome and thanks for any info you can give me. I would like to see your project as it moves along.

I envy you being able to build chassis. That seems to be a big hurdle in the RT building field. Being a 'newbe' as well, I will enjoy seeing what you and others are doing.

Luci4, personally, i would use a miata front suspension for a trike even tho it is slightly heavy for that use. It's probably the lightest IFS you can find cheaply. I bought a complete miata front end including the steering for $300 at the local u-pull-it ( complete front clip minus fenders and hood). By the way, Welcome Rcurry23 and Luci4 to the forum. I hope you like what we have here. SRX660

Thanks for the welcomes! I hope to get started on mine soon, and will post a build up when that time comes. I also am looking at the Miata or the Mustang II front ends. As far as the chassis building, that shouldn't be a problem with the equipment we have at work. I am on the finishing touches of the design right now. Should be like non other and full bodied. Also, if any of you are ever looking for Wilwood parts, swedged rods, hiems/rod ends, stuff like that let me know I can supply alot of things. I also have motor mounts for Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki motors. Not all of them but some. If your ever looking for something, just ask!
