I have always thought theses were a waste of money. But on two rides up in the mountains with a set of SENA sets we had a blast takling anytime we wanted. He was on hes BMW F800GT and I was on my scooter and to HEAR his comments when he realized he could not lose me in the corners was so funny. He said he was waiting for my car tire on the rear to blow up.
My friend Chris has a SENA 10C unit that has a built in camera, Bluetooth intercom, Bluetooth Cell connection and FM radio. I just bought a SENA 10S that is basically the same unit without the Camera.
Last Friday we met up in the city of Monroe WA at the foothills of the Cascade mountain "Stevens Pass" US 2. We rode east up and over to Wenatchee and took SR 97 north to SR 530. Had lunch and then up SR 153 to Winthop and took the "North Cascades Highway" SR 20 west back towards home. All the time we could talk about the scenery and road conditions. There had been 40 feet of snow just weeks ago up there and we ran into some sand in corners and he did not know till I told him he was throwing sand up, and his comment was "I wondered why my traction control light was blinking on". All in all we did a 485 mile day ride thru heavy forested mountain passes.
Once we paired the two units they worked well even 1/4 mile away. He was running a paired GPS unit and it would butt in and give road course changes, that was the only time I could not talk to him. Me wife called my cell to check up on our trip and all I had to do was say LOUDLY "YES" and it connected her to me and I could talk to her.
When I turn it on it auto connects to my cell. I just got back from a trip to Portland Or on my scooter. I have 780 songs saved on my phone and I picked my ELO folder and it played all 5 album's down and back.
So over all I like this unit. It should pair up with any other brand Bluetooth intercom but I have not tried it yet.
Anyone else use a setup like this?
