Hi fellow backward thinkers. I am Dave J from Auburn WA 98092. I have been around bikes for over 45 years and trikes some times. I have always hated trikes as they were always a bugger to ride hard. Then about 1985 a neighbor was giving local kids rides in a tandem Morgan type reverse trike. I was in my 20's and asked for a ride and we went for a 100 mile cruise up in the Cascade mountains. It was so much better than a stupid rear trike. I had not thought about a reverse trike since then but a few weeks ago a fellow Burgman rider posted about the Brit's ECOEXO trike. I have studied it till I know every (NASTY) weld on their frame. I know I can do better. Hopefully I do not step on any toes on my questions or answers. Up front, I am a "Darksider". I will not push the Car tire thing but if anyone needs more answers on Car tires on a motorcycle, just ask in a PM and no one will know but us.
I am a retired US Army SSG. I have ridden bikes in so many countrys. I have always loved commuting on a bike till I suffered nerve damage in my left arm and have problems pulling a clutch lever in the I-405 stop and wait traffic. So in 2006 I bought a 2003 Burgman 650 with the Auto ECVT. What a hoot. Not as fast as most 650 up crotch-rockets but I WILL hang with them in the corners. I put 54,000 miles on that one and thru a mistake, it broke. I then bought a 81 GL1100 full dressed Goldwing, totaled it 3 days later. So I bought a 2008 Burgman 650 and totaled it 15,000 miles and 6 months later. Totaled me for the second time too. That was Dec 7th 2010 and on Dec 24th I bought a new 2008 Burgman 650 even though I could not ride as I had busted so many bones and ribs. I now have 30,000 miles on it.
My reverse trike build will be powered by ether my 2003 Burgman or my 81 Gl1100 engine. I will build a safe fuel cell, radiator and battery all up front for weight bias. Mustang II front design with inboard coil overs. Stock Handel bar to a 2:1 quicken-er to a powered Mustang II rack and pinion. 135/80 TR 15's on 3X15 lite wheels in front and a 165/65 SR 14 in the rear IF I use the Burgman engine...... Dave
