Hi all. I'm about to begin a reverse trike and thought I would stop in here and say hello and let you know a bit about the project.
I've been wanting to build one since while driving through VA, I saw a strange vehicle on the highway. I had never seen anything like it, but man was it cool. I went home and got on the internet and found the trike. It was Jamieson DuRette's Indycycle. I've been hooked ever since.
I've started gathering parts to build an aerodynamic high gas mileage reverse trike. It will be a single seat commuter vehicle with a removable rear subframe that will allow me to switch between a small 300 cc engine and narrow tire and a high horse engine and wide tire for fun on the weekends. The front spindles will be built to allow either motorcycle tires or car tires and wheels. The body shape will be similar to the Ecotec Lakester created by GM and So-Cal Speed Shop for Bonneville land speed records. I'm shooting for somewhere in the 150 mpg range. I plan to start a thread in the High Mileage section and post photos from start to finish.
I was an Electronics Tech in the Navy, am a competent welder and have a lot of experience with fiberglassing, so those bases are covered. I will be looking to you guys as I go for inspiration as I go!
Wish me luck!

Welcome aboard Chromedome, Please do keep us informed and if possible take many, many pictures while you are building your trike. Most of the regulars here relish a new build and most, if like me, are looking forward to someone else's ideas on how to make it happen. For the others, here's the basis for his trike. SRX660

Thanks for the welcome srx660 and for posting the pictures of the Ecotec Lakester.
I have my camera all polished up and ready to go. I hope to start welding the frame this weekend and will post plenty of pictures.
