A little about me. I'm more into hotrods and motorcycles but I'm very interested in designing my own rt because I love fabricating. I'm fascinated with the idea of a low to ground, prone (more of a foward lay down), nearly fully enclosed design. Light is necessity.
The oddest thing I find is I am finding no designs that incorparte the prone position. I like the idea of the prone postition (enigine rear like most designs) to keep the overall height and size down. Single driver. Front suspension/steering to evolve around an inbound coilover shock design with pusher rod on lower control arm which could allow for sleeker body design around tires and nose. Guess what I'm saying is I want it to look as good as in performs. I've got all these ideas in my head but just cant put them to paper. Guess I need to buy my first CAD program. LOL's.
What are you guys using for steering? I'm finding extremely short (rod end to rod end) rack units for dragsters/dirt track cars. Maybe steering from a Kawasaki Mule (or similar ORV's)?
Anyway....this should be interesting. Hope to inspire.

So, your looking for a really different type of ride, EH! Something like this? Looks like Peugeot has been thinking about it too. It could be a really different kind of ride. SREX660

The center wheel arm on this trike can pivot, moving the driver to a prone position.

LOL's. Yes. Those are slick. I like the 2nd one the most, the Peugeot. Bet it takes some real muscle to turn that machine with the big tires though.

Hey David, Loyd from Ok, next door. I like some of your ideas but being in a prone position in traffic is something I'd not like. My trike is 44" tall and running below the windows of surrounding cars, much less the pickup and suv crowd can be intimidating. They could run over the top of me and barely feel the bump. Passing on hills can be a problem to. Be careful and good luck.
