I was attending cars and coffee in OKC this morning when I ran across this vehicle, which is sure to be of interest to forum members.
It belongs to Scott, an OKC local and sorry forgot his last name. He was a friendly fellow and was happy to discuss his trike and reverse trikes in general at length.
I turned him on the forum, so maybe he will be posting here in the future and discuss his ride and answer any questions we might have.
Not having owned the trike long, he seemed to still be getting familiar with it.
No surprise, its very powerful (turbo 600 kawasaki, about 150hp.) and very low to the ground, less than 3 inches clearance with no one on board.
I was surprised at how stiff the suspension was. He let me lean into the inner pivots of the control arms and the give was 0. On mine I would have sunk an inch and a half or so.
I like that the track is not crazy wide as you often see on high powered RTs, just a personal preference for agility's sake. I do understand extra wide tracks make things less tippy, but this trike looks anything but tippy. Manufacturer claims 1.5 g in corners. I'm doubtful any vehicle without a lot of high speed downforce can get anywhere near that. Similar T-Rex claims have been proven bogus by independent testing.
On the other hand, the long wheel base/swingarm is not a positive for me.
Problems he mentioned were lack of traction ( despite a 265/17 out back) and high speed instability on rough surfaces or in crosswinds, all problems I'm familiar with on my own trike.
We are both keeping tabs on a local sports car club (Enhanced Motorsports) for a suitable autocross or track day avent that we can attend, so I hope to run into him again.
I would have loved to swap test rides with him, but downtown was no place to do it today so I did not even bring it up. Maybe in the future.
He looked my trike over with real interest an seemed impressed, at least I'd like think so.
