Still working on my Carbon Fiber T-Rex styled trike, but had an opportunity to buy a Can Am Spyder roadster. I intend to make modifications to it, such as a custom sound system and minor carbon fiber body trim components. I am impressed with the technology that is engineered on these trikes; besides antilock brakes, electronic traction + stability control. Safty was apparently paramount, if you lose traction on one wheel the system will reduce rpm and apply brakes to the remaining two wheels to prevent you from losing control. I considered using this platform for my trike, but did not find a decent salvage Can Am at the time. This is a 09 S5, it has 5 speed paddle shifter with reverse it is semi automatic so there is no clutch to depress; just up or down shift, the computer will not change the gear if the RPM's are too far off. Also it will auto down shirt thru each gear when you brake to a slower speed or stop. I did see a Custom made reverse trike (sit in type) using the Can Am, I will post a picture of it when I find it.
