I really like this trike. Short, wide, plenty of interior space, could be made with a removable hardtop. Think i may try to build my trike like this one and see what happens. Ill be using a Kawasaki Eliminator 900 motor and drivetrain. I'm going to try to extend the driveshaft to the rear tire. I now have most of the parts necessary to build this. rear end shot My front will be different. more covered up SRX660

Interesting. I have seen some pics of it before in of all things a street rod magazine. I would like to see an interior photo showing the room in the foot wells. From the exterior photos, there does not seem to be much room for feet and pedals.

I did think about that. If needed i would extend the cockpit sides a bit at the front to fit me comfortably. I built a plywood box in my garage to use as a seating pattern on any trike i build. I built it with the idea of my perfect seating position and included doors for easy ingress and egress. My box has 31 inched from engine firewall to steering wheel, and 46 inches to the back of the seat inside. My doors are only 10 inches shorter at38 inches. I can get in and out of the box easily. Seats are 10 inches off the floor, so i do use the door sill to help lift myself out. I want to have a removable hardtop but i do not want it so high it looks ungainly. I will work that out when get to the stage of putting a body on it. I want a running chassis that is simple to build, straight square tube rails that everything attaches to. I am looking for a comfortable ride, not a speed demon, so a bit more weight does not bother me. I'm shooting for 1300-1400 lb with 105 hp, and getting around 40MPG with the kaw motor. I am getting 42-48 with the kaw as a stock motorcycle. Ilso have a honda shadow engine but it is only 42 HP. I think the bike is a dog, so i imagine a twice as heavy trike would be even worse. little by little i'm getting there. srx660

Great to hear you are getting a project together SRX . The mockup box was great idea. Yes 105 hp is fine for getting 1300 lbs down the road but it's not all about power to weight. It's about gear ratios , torque curves and flywheels (or lack of). Your drivetrain was designed to launch less than half that weight. Bikes have no need of a stump puller first or gobs of low end touque. Be prepared to go to much shorter final drive gearing if want to move off dead stops without a lot of clutch slipping. That wil take a toll on fuel mileage and relaxed cruising but the more your trike weighs the deeper the need for this unhappy compromise.
