If I have the time, this will be all the information required to replicate the Spartan.
Note: The design requires the following tools 3-Axis Mill (with capability to cut and hold 12" parts) Lathe (with 6" or larger chuck) Plasma Cutter (or adequate size shear) Metal Cut Off Saw Grinder Drill Press Hand Drill Arbor Press Tube Notcher
Locally available: CNC Waterjet Cutting CNC Plasma Cutting Tube Bending Sheet Bending
Beyond the fabrication: 2005-2008 GSXR 1000 Other models (GSXR600..750) of those year bikes will probably fit but I can't promise anything. I used a 2005 bike, I would highly recommend 07-08 because it comes with the hydraulic clutch as a standard which will save a lot of head ache.
I am giving out this design for free, if something doesn't work let me know and I will work on a fix. This is done at the risk of the builder, I do not claim any engineering expertise to say that this design is safe as I am just finishing my own, only you know your own fabrication ability, if you are unsure pay someone who does it for a living.
This is going to be broken down by component, and I will list price to build or as close as I can come up with and where to purchase all the required parts for that component.
This will probably take a long time... I am busy, hit me up on skype at anmccarthy if you want to talk design and maybe hand off some parts for those who use solidworks and want to build a similar trike. I am on East Coast US time.

Fuel Tank (Trial Post, more to come) The tank should hold approximately 4 gallons, made from 12 gauge sheet metal. The top and bottom flanges are cut out of the bike fuel tank, use a grinder to trim the OD of the flanges before welding them in place. All vent lines are inserted through the fuel pump hole so that should be welded last after all the tank internals are in place and you are sure that all the line clamps are tight. (Caution: drain and dry the tank before cutting)

Hi captainamerica, I am very impressed with the spartan! I would be interested in the Solidworks files to build one. Are you familiar with VR3 engineering? They are the premier provider for Formula SAE. www.vr3.ca They have amazing capabilities to cnc everything you need very cost effectively.
