Though all these existing production RT's are very nice...I feel these are for the wealthier class who have unlimited funds to throw money at a toy they know nothing about, it just looks cool...I am 100% more on the line to build an RT and know how every part does its job...this is the number 1 reason this site even exists...to build an RT like the big boys have at a fraction of the expense and have it equal or come close to the same specs in performance is what this Forum is all about...who has 45K+ laying around to buy a T-Rex...as for the Spyder bike, that looks too much like a 2 wheel bike with an extra wheel and you sit on it the same way as the 2 wheeled counterpart...I believe that an RT should be a sit down design, this is what gives them the lower center of gravity to handle so well...though these thoughts are my own, I would be willing to bet that many others will have the same opinion.

Amen!!!
I like the production RTs for ideas, but by the time my project is finished I know I will spend less than $3000 to build the entire RT...if not much less.
If you do it yourself, do it right, and take the time to research and understand the benefits of an RT -- there's no reason you can't have a cheap, fast, and well designed 3-wheeled sportscar.

You can spend forever adding every little detail you can think of building a RT. Or, you can build a quick and dirty ugly contraption. Face it, Mechanically, a Rt is usually nothing more than formula 3 car with a single rear wheel. The only thing left is to be creative in the building process. Too far away from good race building practice just leaves you with a machine that does not work well. The styling is where it's at with me. I will spend the extra time in design to have my swoopy looks with a racecar built inside of it. SRX660

My interest in the reverse trike as I said in my new payer profile is mostly the articulating systems involved with some of these fantastic vehicles that people have built. The PTV or personal transport vehicle (Many of the trike are about saving weight or space) is ultimately I believe about fitting twice as many single or double passenger vehicles into the same space as single sedan or even 6 PTVs into the space of 2 sedan size vehicles.
With this in mind we have to build the safest (sorry you gotta add a 4th wheel), best performing and most naturally intuitive vehicle there is to build and ride/drive. So by studying Kenetics and Human movement, ergonomics and taking the safest principles into account I believe we can be building articulating 4wheels PTV's that will be commonplace in the next 20 years.
In this regard the US and Australia lag behind our European counterparts in putting the best possible vehicles on the road. We have the technology right now its just people have an agenda not to adopt it.
Never the less we should build the best we can and people will come to the light anyway. In the meantime trikes can be ridden everywhere it seems and so if you believe Can Am there is a market for them!

I have taken a goldwing gl1000 and put a vw front axle on it. i did this as proof of concept. It worked great other than the fact the old gold wing was junk.figuring if it didnt work i wasnt out anything. we it worked out great i love riding the old thing. Now ive started converting my 03 gl1800 goldwing with reverse and cruise control. im building this as a nolt on ,so at any point i can convert backe to a bike,it i want to upgrade to a newer bike
