Scot, This is Dave and I'm 4 foot 20" Looks like a good start. Some of the newest thought is to move the front axle back, just under the knee area. That gives quick turn in and places some of the riders weight more over the wheels. Hard to do with a torsion VW axle, I know. One thing you will find using a Busa for power is lack of grip. 1st gear will go up in smoke so easy. And if it does hook-up, try riding that wheely with two heavy wheels and tires off the ground. Shop around and see if you can find a car tire that will fit the Busa's rear wheel. You want as wide as possable in about the same diameter as stock, and sticky too. If my son was building me a reverse trike, I'd find a wrecked Suzuki Burgman 650 or maybe a wrecked newer Honda CTX700 with the " the revolutionary Honda Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)". No gears to shift, just twist and go. The Burgman has a computer controlled CVT that has a manual mode so you can paddle shift it if you need to lock in in a lower gear for like a steep down hill. Just put it 2nd or 3rd for some engine braking. A Burgman 650 is the only scooter allowed on Mt Washington NH's road due to the steepness. You would burn out the brakes without lower geared engine braking.

good info dave, not sure how much wider wheel I can get . as there is not a lot of clearance for a wider tire. my dad insisted he wanted a beetle axle with leg room. im making the the bike all bolt in brackets, so if we wanted to we could swap it with a diff bike , use the busa to build a even better one. when people ask me how tall are you I normally say 5' 23"

Here's what I finished last summer, 60 Chevy on a Crown Vic 4.6 police interceptor chassis, air ride with 24's. Sorry I'll get back to the trike stuff and keep this thread trike related.

welded 4x4 center tube in /and beefed up the front beetle axle mount--will plate it from bottom too. I hope to add lots of pics as I build / maybe this will help others build one too. I know I did 3 months of surfing before I came up with a plan of attack.

parts prices are running 2.50 per foot for tube/ 2 sheets of 20 gauge metal 4x10 sheets 36.00 each, the most expensive part of this project is the donor bike. went high end 5000.00 for a wrecked bike, ill sell the forks and front end parts I don't need to recoup some cost. I know there are a lot of other bikes 250 ninjas etc. most builds I read say get 1000cc or bigger

heres my power bead roller took a eastwood beadroller. beefed it up , because it flexes too much. added a hf 1/2 drill and some pulleys , and made a foot pedal. works pretty darn good!! rolled some panels for the floor

added in a side tube , now ill add some tube on the side up by the seats. my hayabusa ran till I tore it apart. these bikes have a tip over sensor, I took it apart to see what makes it tick . put back together still doesn't run. no spark. I didn't really want to be a hayabusa repair man!! but the repair manual is on the way so I can start ohming stuff and figure out why no spark . aye yi yi

it now runs again!! was the darn tip over switch . fixed that mounted it. started right up!!sweet . so far ive added more braces the bike is now attached , with no blocks holding it up. I have some rake to it. since the floor is flat smooth I don't want it to lift off like a plane. hey theres a idea put some wings on it and glide over a traffic jamb.
