I built an XR3 (Robert Riley design) and made it all electric. (ditched the forward diesel engine in lieu of a Warp 9 motor) I still need to make the body and add the real battery pack. m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ctl3FjS9-BIHere is my build diary. xr3.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=diary&action=display&thread=19I took a break from this project to complete an EV conversion of a 1973 Opel GT. Anyway, the vehicle handles very well, and is very popular with everyone in the neighborhood. I got it up to 54 MPH, although this was in a neighborhood and I had very limited street space for higher speeds. (stop signs at nearly every corner!)

Are you utilizing the VW Beetle transaxle, or have you gone with a simple diff?
