OK, got my set of plans and two other PDF's. The plans are 6 pages and do leave just a bit to the imagination. It uses Kawasaki Bayou KLF-300 quad ATV front suspension and steering. My State may not allow ATV parts so I may have to cobble up some A arms and spindles from like a Miata. Stuart Mills, MEV also sent me his 109 page book on "How to build an Electric powered Trike" on PDF. The front width is about 1290mm wide and a VW front beam is about 1315mm so with 1 inch wider I may just use my 1966 VW Karmin GHIA beam. Their pictures:

My plans are to make the chassis a bit wider and longer for more batteries. The batteries and AC three phase motor I plan on are liquid cooled/heated so I also must place a radiator to cool the "Evans Waterless" coolant and a small Propain "Water" heater for cold days to keep the batteries warm.
I plan to start on this around July.

Electric power intrigues me. I might consider this instead of another motorcycle drivetrain for my present chassis, so I will follow your build with great interest.
Why not Can Am Spyder front end pieces? Used pieces are readily available on Ebay at relatively low prices, and the arms are tubular, much more attractive and lighter than the stamped Miata stuff. The drilled 9.25" discs and 4 pot aluminum calipers give lots of stopping power. The 750 lb Spyder is designed to handle an additional three or four hundred pounds of passengers and baggage. Where else can you get such a combination of lightweight and ruggedness? The parts can be configured to any track width you want.
A vdub front end is lightweight for car components and easy to bolt on as a unit. It was state-of-the-art brilliant when Ferry Porsche designed it in the 1930s. Now days, it's kind of wonky and inelegant. JMO.
Good luck on the build, can't wait to see it take shape.

Yes the VW beam is not fancy-cmancy but they are simple and easy to modify. And I have one in my garage all stripped down wating for me to cut it up and do the inner coil over shock mod.
CanAm suspension does look better and I will check them out. The seller will have to give me a Bill of sale WITH the CanAm's VIN or my stste inspector will not pass it.

When I get into the build stage I will start a build page. I am just "Spitballing" this for now. If anyone wants to know more about th costs over service life of the electric builds I can start a page just for that with LINK's to vendors.
I can order the steel right now but getting all the batteries and equipment will take some "Splain'ing" to SWMBO*. Batteries will run about $4000 and the controllers and chargers another $3500. But the pay back time will be less than 2 years compared to Gasoline and oil changes. I should get at least 5,000+ charges from the batteries before the batteries get to 80%, or about 13 years on the batteries if I ride EVERY day.
*She Whom Must Be Obeyed.
