VIN, Registration and Other Legalities

Hi there I am new to this forum so feel free to correct me if I am doing anything wrong but I am very curious about all the legal steps involved with taking a motorcycle and converting it to a trike with a seat and steering wheel. I am having trouble finding out what would be legal or not and all the steps and requirements to build a bike that is completely street legal. Any help would be awesome as I want to start designing this summer but want to make sure I can do it legally.

As you are finding out it is a bit hard finding regulations outlining what needs to be done. And each state could be different too. So let us know where about you live and maybe a member will have some info for you.
