I had a racing shifter laying around at home , left over from my rat project , it was new , figured I would put it to use I lengthened the wires so I could move the oem cluster to the dash area , and the switches to the center console area, I welded a flat bracket with a pipe on it so I could mount the oem switches that used to be on the handle bars.

I used a 98 mustang clutch pedal which uses a cable for the clutch , so I decided to mount the clutch handle on a bracket and hook a cable to it, leading up to the foot pedal . I extended the wires for the clutch by pass , so you have to push the clutch in to start it .on the hayabusa the clutch switch cannot be soldered together, if you do I found read researched it . it would run in neutral safe mode and not run right down the road , so keeping it working is right for the engine and safe. I need to add a return spring and a bump stop, so I cant snap it off with to much leg into the foot pedal

the shifter linkage needs to jog over from center to the left about 10 inches , so I have 1/2 steel rod, in a tube rolling on bearings with allen wrench locks to keep the shaft in place and bearing in place , I used the small wheel bearings like 1.65 each , the tabs im making the same length as the shifter lever on the side of the bike. I have rod from shifter done to the , jog over contraption I am making. I love fabing stuff, chop , cut weld!!! heres a picture

my goal is to make it function first , will work on cosmetics after it functions. I've got it this far in just a few months , I work a full time job and I am doing this in my spare time. my goal is next week go for a slow test drive , you have to set goals right? my goal was today , but I was derailed when I found out I needed new ball joints in the 1966 beetle front axle, they were just to sloppy , disc brake kit came in the mail yeah!!! if I can go for a test drive , I should have a new excitement , burst of energy to get it done!!

I thought the cluster was bad , I replaced a fuse for one of the lights and whalllaaa cluster powers up , note to others . if one fuse is blown on a busa the gauge cluster will not work, and there is not separate fuse for the cluster, looks like any fuse blown and will not power up

Just start the engine in neutral with the clutch pulled in. It is normal for the oil to get sticky from sitting on the clutch plates. First fire and it should be fine.

ill try that soon thanks dave!!
alignment shop didn't have right adapter to put those ball joints in so they made a bracket to hook the tool to get them out and new ones back in , so its axle disc brake assy this weekend hook up some brake lines and should be able to go for a spin !!! like I said earlier im trying to give more info then just show off my trike when done , sure I like to look at cool designs but really would rather see something that one can build in the shop 30 feet from my house and not pay some one 100 bucks per hour to work on it . scot

Wow, I just open the door from the den into the shop ;-) All kidding aside, it looks great and you did build it quick. I have the front suspension almost done. I ordered some "turbo" tie rods for a Porsche to go on the ZF 914 rack and pinion and found out they don't have enough angle for my application. Have to get heim joints but the thread is oddball and only one place has them in England and they are out of stock. Have my pedals in place and shifter built. Thanks for the pictures and the narrative.

Just start the engine in neutral with the clutch pulled in. It is normal for the oil to get sticky from sitting on the clutch plates. First fire and it should be fine. I'm using a Moto Guzzi in my build and I had a stuck clutch too. I put a stick against the pedal and wedged it against the frame. I left it that way over night. the next day I put it in first gear and rocked the front wheel back and forth. It unstuck in about 5 minutes. Hope this helps, Fred V www.jzrusa2.blogspot.com
